DIY Glacial Erratics
When you go hiking in glacially formed mountains, you get to know erratics. They are often huge boulders placed in strange places sometimes with nothing else around that size for miles. They were left behind by receding glaciers. The one on the label of this jar is a giant heart. Are you feeling the love?
You will need really big Himalayan Salt. I got mine from Saltworks. Any sea salt of a large grain will do.
Place the desired amount of salt rocks into each container. I used an 8 oz canning jar.
In a small glass pyrex measuring cup, add one ounce of jojoba oil per jar that you need to fill. So if you are making 8 jars, use 8 ounces of jojoba oil.
For each ounce of jojoba oil, add 10 - 20 drops of your favorite essential oil. I used a blend of rose, palma rosa and rose geranium. Some other favorites are spruce and pink grapefruit, lavender and clary sage, or rosemary and orange. Pour one ounce of liquid into each jar.
Cap tightly and shake carefully - not so hard you break the salt. Let the salt rocks infuse at least 24 hours before using them.
To use, add 3-4 salt rocks to running bath water. The salt rocks will slowly dissolve and offer up their buoyant mineral goodness, the jojoba will soften your skin, and the essential oils will soothe mind, body, and spirit. Erratic or Erotic? Enjoy!
