My girl had wicked cradle cap. It was hard to not obsess on the top of her head. I knew that it was common, and I knew that it would eventually go away - but she continued to be my muse in the skin care world. This product contains violet leaf for its saponins to help dissolve the flakes and musilage to soothe and moisturize the scalp. Have you ever picked violets? You have to get down - way down - like a small child and peer under the leaves to see her blossoms emerge. Oh how I remember the violet scented breezes in the Oregon oak forests! I love the connection of working with wild pansy at the time they are just emerging from the ground. I also love that violet light is the color for the crown chakra. It is our connection with the cosmos, it has the highest vibration of any visible color in the spectrum of light. Violet also has an affinity to breast tissue - yet another fitting connection for this Mama. Sigh...this salve also contains our own infused calendula and chamomile oils, and the most divine smelling essential oils - not too strong to overpower the sweet smell of baby's head.
To use, apply to the scalp either wet or dry. I did this at night after bath time to allow the salve to penetrate the scalp better. In the morning, I used a fine toothed comb to comb it out. Voila!
